Glazing technique sometimes feels as if I am holding my breath each time I lay down a color. But for now, I am happy with the results; hoping, as I move forward, I will get more comfortable and looser with the paint application.
The portrait of Baxter has made me want to paint more portraits of horses. The Young Man Holding a Flower is my effort to learn more about indirect painting, after having taken a class with John Wellington who is an expert of the technique. Tomorrow I will begin glazing over this underpainting.
I am having fun. I think I will revisit the LOC photos of athletes for further inspiration.
