I have begun two classes, one through the New York Academy of Art and one with the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Both are excellent, as Evan Kitson and Peter Van Dyck are knowledgeable, hard-working artists and teachers. I have been working during the past few weeks on drawing the human form, and these are some of the results. I started the painting today, incorporating some of the figures I have been drawing.

Prayer and cadavers
The battle between the diva and Diana turned out badly, with Diana getting the worst of it; she is dead. The painting suffered considerably in the making, so I won’t show it. But I did make a painting called Prayer for Diana. I have been spending time meditating on impermanence, and found a wonderfully macabre book entitled Dissection: photographs of a rite of passage … that you can read about at https://cms.www.countway.harvard.edu/wp/?p=1302 I have combined images from the book with old master drawings and medical prints to create the paintings.
